Death Waltz Recording Co., is proud to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of John Carpenter’s seminal slasher film, Halloween. Features: 40th Anniversary version pressed on Translucent Orange vinyl Audio taken from the original Mono film reels Artwork by Mike Saputo This 40th anniversary release of the original Halloween music composed and performed by John Carpenter in 1978 presents the original Halloween film score as it was mixed within the film. The audio is taken from the music stem” derived from the 35mm mono tracks that comprised the dialogue, sound effects and music of the original film which when combined, comprise the complete soundtrack of the classic film. The first LP album of Halloween, released in 1982, was a remix of the original 16 master by Alan Howarth, with instructions from John Carpenter to re-mix the tracks to represent the best sound of the music, and not necessarily be committed to match the music as mixed for the film. in this release, Alan Howarth carefully transferred the film music stem, assembled the music in chronological order as presented in the movie so the listener can visualize the film in their minds eye while taking a musical journey of the most famous horror score ever!

Death Waltz Recording Co. is delighted to revisit not only one of our favorite HALLOWEEN sequels, but one of our favorite sequels period. It's been a long, hard road for HALLOWEEN III: THE SEASON OF THE WITCH to be accepted within the HALLOWEEN franchise, but it is now widely considered to be one of the best horror movies of the ‘80s. US Retail Variant 180gm Skeleton Mask vinyl (Cloudy Clear and Black color-in-color) This package contains the Halloween III soundtrack and a special magic card trick! The packaging for this release is also completely singular and jaw-dropping; designed by Alan Hynes (the wizard behind our FIGHT CLUB and ANOMALISA releases) it's unlike all of our other re-issues in this series. It's still designed to fit in the collectors box and really helps solidify what an outlier HALLOWEEN III is in the overall series. The film is unique not only due to it lacking Michael Myers (save for a brief appearance on a TV screen) but also for its score. John Carpenter and Alan Howarth completely jettisoned their previous work and deliver nothing short of an electronic masterpiece. The lead track 'Chariots Of Pumpkins' is an epic 4/4 beat-driven synth-banger that has regularly been played by DJs over the last 10 years. The rest of the score features lush pads, Linn drums aplenty and veers from beautiful blissed-out ambient drones to sinister stinger-driven mood pieces. Absolutely outstanding stuff. Tracklist: Halloween III: Season Of The Witch - Main Titles Chariots of Pumpkins Gas Station Robot Kills Grimbridge Ellie Enters Microphone Drive to Santa Mira Challis and Starker Marge Revealed Silver Shamrock - Two More Days Robots at the Factory First Chase Hello Grandma Silver Shamrock - 1 More Day Santa Mira Night The Rock Cochran Speaks Silver Shamrock - Happy Happy Challis Escapes South Corridor Halloween III - Titles and Chariots (Alt Mix)
Death Waltz Recording Company is proud to present the return of one of horror’s scariest boogeymen, as well as one of the genre’s most iconic theme tunes with John Carpenter and Alan Howarth’s score to HALLOWEEN II. Features: 180gm Orange vinyl Artwork by Paul Mann Set directly after the events of the first film, Rick Rosenthal’s sequel sets itself up as the slasher equivalent of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, making a family connection between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers while getting some good kills in at the same time. Carpenter and Howarth’s score is beefier and more intense than before, using layers of electronics to drive the audience to madness. As before, Myers aka “The Shape” is propelled by that theme, souped up with a new and more powerful arrangement from Carpenter and Howarth. HALLOWEEN II is more overtly synth and is perhaps less focused than the original score, although that certainly means it’s nastier and more schizophrenic. The score also brings back the evocative ’Laurie’s Theme’, incorporating into a score full of harrowing musical effect, its synthesised howls and wails piercing your ears so that by the time ‘Mr. Sandman’ comes around, you’ll feel just like the final girl, delirious at having survived the aural ordeal. And that’s just when The Shape wakes up.

Tracklist: Halloween 5 - The Revenge of Michael Myers Haddonfield Nights The Shape Rises Again Child of Evil Must Die Victim #1 Stranger Things Tower Farm Murders The Rage Must Stop Shafted Michael’s Face Evil Jail Break Halloween Final Revenge
Death Waltz Recording Co. is proud to present an 8XLP box set containing the entire original scores to A Nightmare On Elm Street A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddys's Revenge A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child Freddys Dead: The Final Nightmare Wes Craven's New Nightmare A Nightmare On Elm Street is one of the most successful and beloved horror franchises in history and we are thrilled and honored to be releasing the entire series as a vinyl box set featuring 8 LPs from the original series, all remastered for vinyl by James Plotkin with incredible original artwork from Mike Saputo and a 12-page booklet featuring extensive liner notes and interviews with key composers and cast members. The music of Elm Street is a huge part of the series, each film having its own unique sound and feel. Charles Bernstein created the original score, and Freddy’s main theme that was used throughout the series. His score to the first film is nothing short of a landmark horror score and utterly defines American horror in the '80s - super downbeat, eerie and metallic. Christopher Young (Hellraiser) supplied the score to Freddys's Revenge, and takes the themes down a more orchestral route, layering sounds upon sounds to create a truly scary listen. Angelo Badalamenti (Twin Peaks) composed the score Dream Warriors. Here he crafts moody textures and a woodwind section to create a dreamlike score that fits the theme of PART 3 perfectly. Craig Safan was bought on to compose The Dream Master, and with the help of a synth-clavier synthesizer he created one of the craziest horror scores of the '80s. Yeah, sure, it's scary and creepy, but it's also a ton of fun and totally unique. For The Dream Child, Jay Ferguson delivers a synth-heavy score with nods to fairground music and layers of church organs and weird choral samples. For The Final Nightmare, Australian composer Brian May mixes electronic and orchestrations to stunning effect and for the final film in the series. In New Nightmare J. Peter Robinson gives us a super lush orchestrated nightmare that harkens back to Bernstein’s original.
Leigh Whannell’s UPGRADE is an incredibly fun & inventive sci-fi action thriller & one of our favorite films in 2018. Jed Palmer’s incredible score manages to be be moody, intricate, beautiful and brutal all at the same time. Its quieter moments feature echoes of Blade Runner and Tangerine Dream and it is as comfortable being melancholic as it is being punishing and industrial in it’s more action orientated cues. A stone cold classic of 2018. Features: Pressed on Red Vinyl - Limited to 200 copies
Death Waltz Recording Co., are proud to present the soundtrack to the film SUMMER OF '84, a killer 80's-throwback of BMX, Mullets and Serial Killers, from the people who brought you TURBO KID and featuring an amazing original score by Le Matos. Taking familiar tropes from the history of electronic music (John Carpenter, Daft Punk, Tangerine Dream) Le Matos (TURBO KID, JOIN US) infuse it with so much energy and originality that they end up being totally singular in the world of electronic music. We really can't think of another outfit operating on the same level right now. SUMMER OF '84 features dizzying electro joints, super chilled ambient pieces and straight up horror soundtrack scares! Pressed across 2XLPs this is an essential score for fans of synth soundtracks. Featuring artwork by Sam Turner.
We are thrilled to be releasing the score to A Quiet Place in conjunction with our friends over at Milan Records. The film has been one of the breakout hits of 2018. This is only the second directorial feature for John Krasinski and is an absolutely incredibly tense monster movie, that is as original as it is scary. Features: PRESSED ON 180G BLACK VINYL HOUSE INSIDE A SPOT VARNISHED 425GSM GATEFOLD JACKET WITH INSERT Artwork By Matt Ryan Tobin The score by Marco Beltrami is an absolute tour de force, it's basically another character in the film, it can be forceful and bludgeoning one minute and quiet and reflective the next. His players twist their instruments to generate tones and textures not usually associated with them, the layers of sound and percussion on display are incredible, the opening track 'It Hears You' reminds me of a classic Planet Of The Apes cue it's disquieting and slightly wonky but has an incredible hook that immediately lets you know you are in horror territory whereas say 'A Quiet Family' is a beautiful piano track that reminds you of the life the family lived before a world of monsters took over. Pianos are detuned, Electronics are layered over traditional instruments to create something truly unsettling.
Joe D’Amato’s 1979 gorefest Buio Omega (Beyond the Darkness) concerns a local taxidermist Frank and his dead fiancée, unable to cope with his loss he of course digs up his deceased girlfriend and preserves and stuffs her. Features: The complete original score including 17 tracks never before pressed to vinyl straight from the vaults of AMS & Cinevox Pressed on GREEN vinyl and limited to 1,000 LPs Housed in a gatefold jacket with printed insert This (obviously) doesn’t sit well with his housekeeper who is secretly in love with Frank, from here on in things get even more bizarre and gruesome as Frank tries to find a replacement for his ex to no avail. As bodies pile up (and get broken down in acid baths) the local police get suspicious and it all comes to a head for Frank and his housekeeper. Buio Omega is an absolutely outrageous slice of Italian sleaze and recommended to those only with the strongest of stomachs! Goblin supplied the score to Buio Omaga and they really helped elevate the film. Synthesizers soar and drums rattle and the score is a funk filled masterpiece far better than the film probably deserves! We are thrilled to bring the full score on vinyl straight from the original masters and we have loaded it with unreleased tracks/takes & stingers from the AMS/Cinevox vaults!
